In the series My father’s sunflowers I printed 2 photo’s that I found in my father’s archive.
They show two versions of sunflowers growing against a wall. The sunflowers are not particularly pretty, leaves battered, only one flower to be seen.
Maybe my father took the pictures just to practice photography. Maybe the flowers had a special significance for him.
I don’t know, but to me they have a certain vulnerably and beauty.
I printed the photo’s on old paper and added painted colored cirkels. The colors are random, without a preconceived plan.
Two layers coming together. Two ways of seeing.
